10 days - 9 nights
Day 1 - Embarkation in Ushuaia
Our Antarctic expedition begins in the city of Ushuaia. Today we board the ship to begin sailing through the Beagle Channel.
Important note: Boarding must take place between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm, as this is the latest time to board. It is essential to be punctual to avoid missing your trip. You must have your passport with you, and please note that there is a significant wait time between port security and boarding the ship.
Day 2 - Crossing the Drake Passage
We set sail with our goal set on Antarctica, crossing the famous Drake Passage, named in honor of Sir Francis Drake, the great 16th-century British explorer. During the voyage, a program of lectures and presentations will be offered. Accompanied by expert guides, we will be able to observe wildlife from the lounge or the outside decks. We will be able to spot magnificent seabirds, such as albatrosses and petrels, as well as different species of whales on their way south to Antarctica. After crossing the Antarctic Convergence, the environment changes markedly.
Days 4 to 7 - Exploring Antarctica
We sail between the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, through ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs, accompanied by seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales. Every day, weather permitting, we disembark in a Zodiac boat and explore the landscape with expert polar guides.
All voyages to Antarctica are different, and that's what makes them interesting: weather conditions determine the places we'll visit. The expedition team sets the voyage route to take advantage of the ever-changing opportunities that nature provides, creating a unique and extraordinary experience. Possible destinations to visit include Paulet Island, Hope Bay, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, Deception Island, Lemaire Channel, etc. Daily landings are made in zodiac boats. While sailing, we will enjoy lectures on board. We will begin our return to the South American continent during the afternoon or evening of the 8th.
Days 8 to 9 - Return Sailing
We will return north to Argentina, crossing the Drake Passage during these days. It's time to observe wildlife from the bridge or the exterior decks and watch presentations on various Antarctic topics in the lounge.
Day 10 - Ushuaia
We disembark in the morning in the southernmost city in the world: Ushuaia. If you booked a trip with Argentinian Explorer, you can enjoy an additional night enjoying a tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park on the End of the World Train.
