The most popular and requested classic trip is the MV expedition cruise to Ushuaia departing from Ushuaia. Other traditional programs reach the Antarctic Peninsula for Christmas or New Year, such as the case of M/V Polar Pioneer. M/V Plancius offers a special sighting of humpback, Minke and southern right whales in Guillermina Bay. M/V Plancius and M/V Ortelius add adventure travel to the traditional trip by offering camping, kayaking, snow racketing, mountaineering or photography courses. On some specific dates these ships offer scuba diving in Antarctica. The so-called Base Camp Trips have the advantage of including adventure activities free of charge, with the exception of scuba diving. This activity is not available on every adventure trip to Antarctica.
