Cabins

The capacity of the M / N Skorpios is 106 passengers, served by an experienced crew. It has 53 cabins covered in fine woods, on a double, triple or quadruple basis, distributed in 5 decks, twin, double and king beds. All with private bathroom, some with windows and others without windows, plasma TV and background music. The ship also has two bar rooms (Quitralco room and San Rafael room) and a spacious dining room. The 5 decks are: Athos, Olympo, Parthenon, Acropolis and Athens. The cabins on the Athos and Olympo decks are on a double basis, whereas the cabins on the Parthenon, Acropolis and Athens decks are on a double, triple or quadruple basis. And on a single basis exclusively the cabins on the Athens deck.

Athos Deck: The Athos Deck is the highest of the decks, being the fifth deck. There are 3 cabins with a window and direct access to the deck. All cabins are with a double bed. The cabins are 501, 502 and 504. On this deck is the boat's command bridge.

Olympo Deck: The Olympo Deck is below the Athos Deck and above the Parthenon Deck, it is the fourth deck. There are 10 cabins with a window and side exit to the exterior corridor. 2 Suite cabins with King size double bed. They are cabins 401 and 402. There are 2 Junior Suite cabins with a Queen Size double bed. They are cabins 409 and 410. And there are 6 double matrimonial cabins and they are cabins 403, 404, 405, 406, 407 and 408. The outdoor deck is ideal for relaxing and sunbathing.

Parthenon Deck: The Parthenon Deck is below the Olympo Deck and above the Acropolis Deck, it is the third deck. There are 14 cabins with a window and exit to the internal corridor. All cabins are with two double beds. The cabins are 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, 311, 313, 314, 315 and 316. The cabin 312 is for the ship's doctor. The cabins can be up to 4 passengers (consult previously). On this deck you will find the ship's 2 bars, the Quitralco bar (at the stern of the ship) and the San Rafael bar (at the bow of the ship).

Acropolis Deck: The Acropolis deck is below the Parthenon deck and above the Athens deck, it is the second deck. There are 14 cabins with a window and exit to the internal corridor. There are 12 cabins with two double beds, one with a triple bed and one with a double bed. The cabins with two double beds are 203, 205, 206, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, 215 and 216. These cabins can be up to 4 passengers (consult previously). There are 2 more cabins, 204 which is a cabin with a double bed and a superior single bed, it is triple. And cabin 207 is with a double bed for 2 people. On this deck you will find the ship's dining room and kitchen.

Athens Deck: The Acropolis deck is below the Acropolis deck, it is the first deck. There are 12 cabins without a window and exit to the internal corridor. There are 8 cabins with two double beds. The cabins are 107, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114 and 116. These cabins can be up to 4 passengers (consult previously). There are 4 cabins with a double bed and a superior single bed, they are triple. The cabins are 105, 106, 108 and 118.

Tips before starting the trip on the M / N Skorpios

The M/N Skorpios is an expedition cruise, for this reason, we advise traveling with excursion clothing, this means bringing low-top shoes and preferably trekking shoes, quick-drying pants (goretex / raincoats), fleece, hats and windbreaker jackets and inside goose feather as much as possible. For the descents on the excursions it is very practical to carry a backpack. Don't forget to bring a swimsuit because we are going to visit the Quitralco hot springs. Bring casual clothing for the Captain's farewell party or dinner. It is essential to bring sunglasses and sunscreen to protect yourself from UV rays. A photographic or video camera to record the landscapes of this beautiful area of ​​Patagonia, bring several memory cards and battery chargers (remember that in the cold the batteries discharge faster), it is worth bringing binoculars to watch birds or animals at a distance. It is always advisable to read before each trip in reference to the area to be visited, in this case in particular, we recommend reading about the glaciers, so you will understand glaciology terms more easily when our guides advise you. If you take medications permanently, do not forget to bring them, since it is very difficult to get them in the destinations where we visit, since they are generally towns. How to get to Puerto Montt

The Sorkpios II motor ship sets sail and returns from the city of Puerto Montt, capital of the Lake District, located 1,000 km from Santiago and 1,850 from Buenos Aires. You can arrive in Puerto Montt by air at El Tepual airport where there are about 15 flights per day, mainly from airlines such as Latam or Sky Airlines. It can also be reached by land by car, in this case, Skorpios offers free custody of the vehicle, it can also be reached by bus from Santiago, in Chile or from Villa La Angostura, Bariloche or San Martín de los Andes, in Argentina, arriving to the bus terminal in Puerto Montt. The recommended border crossing is the Cardenal Samoré pass, close to the Argentine city of Villa La Angostura. It can also be accessed from Bariloche by hiring the Cruce de Lagos navigation that connects the city of San Carlos de Bariloche with Puerto Varas. From Puerto Varas you can take a bus to Puerto Montt, only 17 km away.

Transfers

Skorpios offers transfers in regular service for its passengers, from and to the El Tepual airport in the city of Puerto Montt to the port, located on the Tenglo Canal, Chinquihue road. These transfers are made during the 24 hours prior to boarding and immediately after disembarking. The price of the transfer should be consulted with your Argentinian Explorer travel agency agent at the time of booking. Depending on traffic, the duration of the transfer is approximately 30 minutes.

Additional night

On the Chonos Route carried out by the Skorpios II motor ship, the additional night corresponds to the Friday before departure. You should inquire about the additional price to be paid for that night.

Electricity

The electricity rating on board is 220 volts, with the possibility of 110 volt transformers for the use of household appliances.

Temperature in Ruta Chonos

In the first and autumn seasons, considered low season, temperatures are between 8º and 18ºC, while in summer, which is high season, temperatures rise between 12º and 22ºC.

Laundry

On board the Skorpios ships, there is a laundry service for light garments only.

There is accident insurance included in the value of the cruise, amounts and coverage are printed on the ticket.

The M/N Skorpios II and III ships have closed circuit TV that shows bilingual films and receives a TV signal at some points of the crossing.

The Skorpios boats have a satellite phone (we depend on the weather conditions for the proper functioning of the service), which allows you to call anywhere in the world, according to the current rate for each boat.

Bar and Gastronomy - Meals

The bar is always open, at no additional cost for national or imported wines, drinks and spirits, with the possibility of visiting all the ship's premises without restriction from the engine room, to the command bridge and even the kitchen. Meal service is served at the table, in a single shift. There is only a buffet at breakfast and at the final dinner. The gastronomy is of a high international level, with fusion dishes of traditional Patagonian cuisine from southern Chile, such as spider crabs, giant mussels, mussels, oysters, sea urchins, salmon, corvinas, conger eels, Juan Fernández lobsters, red meat and white dishes and dishes of the best international cuisine with the exquisite and varied Chilean wines, the change of the menu is free of charge.
